David K. Washington: President
Class of 1991
Serving my first year as President of the JCSU 100 Club has been a year of exploration. We have been able to hold true to our theme, "The Next Level." Understanding in order for us to elevate to greater heights, our infrastructure had to be solid and stable. We managed to end our fiscal year (June 30, 2015) with 99 active financial members, 74 renewed memberships 21 new members and 10 upgrades. "The Next Level," has challenged us to be innovative in our thinking while generating revenue for our University (student/athletes). We've established an Endowment (our first) to build upon for years to come. These are some of the marks that we have made during this past year. We, therefore, welcome our former athletes, alums and community partners to lock arms with us as we continue the march to "The Next Level." It takes a Village to bring up our next generation...
Dr. Harold S. Dawkins, Ed.D: Vice President
Class of 1971
It is my pleasure to serve my second year as Vice President of the JCSU 100 Club. Without a doubt, I feel strongly about supporting JCSU athletes and the various athletic programs. Although we made great strides pertaining to membership renewals, reclamations, and new memberships, we have room for improvement for this current fiscal year. In accomplishing these aforementioned goals, the membership committee needs your collaboration in sustaining your active membership status (financial) and recruiting additional 100 Club members. Due to the current financial climate that colleges and universities are facing, additional funds are necessary due to the increasing educational and athletic costs. At JCSU, this situation is no different than what other schools are experiencing. As a result, I will push to increase our alumni and other financial contributions. Let’s make this a standout fiscal year in recognition of the JCSU 100 Club’s 50th anniversary. I am looking forward to collaborating with fellow Smithites and others for another year in order to financially support our athletic programs. Finally, remember to hold high the Gold and Blue in your words and actions.
Harold S. Dawkins, Ed.D.
